Beware Smith & Wesson PPK and PPKS Owners
Smith & Wesson has identified a condition that may exist in certain PPK and PPK/S pistols which may permit a round to be discharged without the trigger being pulled. When the manual safety is disengaged, Smith & Wesson’s Product Engineering Group has determined that the possibility exists in certain firearms that lowering the hammer may cause a chambered round to fire. American Eagle Handgun Ammo Review
American Eagle Handgun Ammo Review
I initially came across American Eagle brand while looking for some ammunition for my .45 ACP a few years back. It worked pretty good and shot straight. Not as dirty as wolf brand but not as clean as say Winchester. Just middle of the road ammunition. The upside of it is that if you are into reloading about 3 in 5 sells were clean enough to reload. I’m sure that sounds like a bad ratio to some people, bear in mind this ammo is already remanufactured to begin with. All in all if your looking for plinking only ammo American Eagle brand is a good alternative to some of the higher priced ammo. And, it doesn’t leave a terrible amount of residue to clean like other brands can. I now have about 500-600 rounds in stock in 38 Special caliber. (I’m not shooting as often as I used to).
Good News! Feds Defend Guns in National Parks
Feds Defend Guns in National Parks
You can now make room in that pack of yours for a gun, a box of ammo, and maybe a holster: After much concern, President Obama claims he will support a midnight regulation change from ol’ Dubya that allows concealed firearms in national parks.
The Justice Department chose to defend the last-minute firearm rule in the face of a lawsuit filed by environmentalist Waco’s and gun-control nuts trying to overturn it.
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, the National Parks Conservation Association, and the Coalition of National Park Service Retirees consider the ruling a huge mistake by the executive branch. They fear it could discourage certain groups from visiting the parks and contribute to a generally unsafe environment.
AR-15 Review
AR-15 Review of Olympic Arms AR-15 K16 5.56 Nato specifications are as follow:
Gas Operated Semi-automatic Action, flat top with picatinny rails, 16″ bull, button rifled, 4140 chromemoly steel barrel, 1×9 Twist rate, Crown muzzle, length is 34.375″, 7.47 pounds in weight.

AR-15
I have been using the .223 round rather then the 5.56 Nato round. (A bit less expensive). It comes slandered with features like a bull barrel, flat top upper, free floating hand guard, rail gas block and A2 butt stock. With all that said this AR-15 is a blast to own and shoot. Using the .223 round you can not feel any kick. At least I can’t feel a kick. Mine came with 2 30 round magazines. Chambering a round is pretty easy once the magazine is in place. Pull back the receiver rod and push the button on the right side and you’re loaded. Changing out the bolt assembly and upper receiver to allow for a different size round is simple as well. My plans for the future are to get the 308 bolt, chamber and upper receiver some time in the future. The Olympic Arms AR-15 also has a safe and fire selection switch on the left side. With the selection switch, the need to pull back the receiver and push the cock button on the right, I would feel safe having this weapon out around young children. Also the fact that it ways almost 8 pounds on top of it sure does help.
Firearm owners beware of the 2009 congress
Firearm owners beware of the 2009 congress. If you are a firearm owner, lover, or planed on purchasing a firearm in the future you need to read this bill before the 2009 congress. Chances are if the people do not get involved the second amendment will get shredded by this congress. And they will be more then happy to do so.

Smith and Wesson model 637 Revolver Review
Smith and Wesson model 637 Revolver Review
Already owning a 9 and a 45 I wanted something small but still able to do the job that I could carry concealed when I’m wearing sweets. Honestly I also wanted a firearm I could carry on my ankle. With those requirement’s I knew a semi-auto probably wouldn’t work. So I went down to my local gun shop to look at some revolvers. When I saw, felt, and held the Smith and Wesson model 637 I knew it was fit.

Smith and Wesson model 637 Snub
The specs on this firearm are as follow 38 special is the caliber, barrel length is 1 7/8” (Yes that is actually 1 inch and 7/8 of an inch, and yes that is small. This particular model comes with the Crimson Trace Laser Grips standard. (that is a nice feature to have). It weighs 15 ounces empty, hence the ankle part of it. The overall length is 6 3/8”. With a maximum total of 5 round capacity, there is not a lot of chances to miss the bull’s-eye.
Ok now on to the actual shooting of it. I’m a dead shoot with my M9 and my 45 at 25 yards, but with the Smith and Wesson model 637 I couldn’t hit the side of a brick house at 10 yards. (Not really) however with the short barrel length and the way the 38 round handles it is very hard to get accurate with this firearm, even with the laser trace grip pre installed. It also gets kind of hard on the palm of your hand after putting 200 rounds downrange to get the sighting down. As a self defense weapon I keep it as my last resort, sort of a drop weapon. It also seems to scare people more then a 45 acp for some reason. Maybe it’s seeing the hammer cocked, or maybe because the 38 is most signified with the police. I don’t really know, and don’t really care. If you are looking to carry a pistol absolutely canceled, and don’t care about shooting something accriatly more then 5 yards away then the Smith and Wesson model 637 is for you. If not please try to find something else that can actually hit what your aiming at.
By now you are probably thinking I hate this pistol. Fact is I love it. It works great in an ankle hoster, and even better, it sits perfectly right next to my keyboard here. But I still keep my 45 right in arm’s reach as well. If you want to go out and soot can’s at a close range this with do the trick as well. Your thought’s on this or any other subject is always welcome.
Franchi I-12 Standard — 12-GA Shotgun, Review
Franchi I-12 Standard — 12-GA Shotgun, Review
Now this is a fun shotgun for plinking. Grate for clay shooting. Best shotgun for hunting. With no need to reload a round after every shot you can easily bring another shot to your pray if you don’t kill with the first shell. I have shot both pump action and this shotgun. Honestly I prefer the Franchi I12 semi auto for all shotgun shooting. My best advice if you do happen to purchase the I-12 is, before you ever put 1 shell down range, load and unload it fully about 15-20 times, or until you can fully unload it on second nature.

J and S Gun Parts Inc. Review
I’ll kick this catagory off with one of my favorite gun shops. J & S Gun Parts.
They are a good group of guys who are only open Tues-Fri 10AM-6PM. They are located at
527 Devoe Street SE
Olympia, WA 98501

OK with that mess out of the way. I love this shop. Every time I go in I am met with a smile and a hello, no mater how busy they are. Most if not all of the different riffle’s are out in view and can be held and looked at before you buy. Since they have a relationship of some sort with Olympic Arms most if not all of their firearms are Olympic Arms firearms. The Riffle and pistol prices are very reasonable. Their ammunition prices however, are a bit high. The customer service more then makes up for prices, period end of statement. I have bought several firearms from them over the years, and I would recommend anyone who is in the Olympia WA area stop buy the shop. No I am in no way getting anything out of this review. In fact they don’t even know I’m giving it. If you would like to check out their website it is http://www.jsgunparts.com
This is all my opinion.
Wolf ammo review – Don’t buy Wolf Ammo
Wolf ammo review
What can be said about this brand, but it’s cheap, not only in price but in construction. It is the worst junk I have ever “tried to” shoot. Let me explain how I managed to come in contact with wolf brand ammunition. I was looking for some bulk ammo on the net for my 45 ACP. I came across this ad for 1,000 rounds of .45 ACP Wolf very inexpensive. Like any gun enthusiast I jumped on it. Boy I was wrong, and my daddy was right when he said “If it sounds to good to be true, then it usually is”. I took 200 rounds down to the firing range to burn off. Now at this point I had put probably 5,000 rounds downrange with the 45 so I knew how to shoot the 45 and how to load and eject a round in the chamber. So I loaded the the 3 mags I had with me with the Wolf ammo, and started to shoot. I got 3 rounds out and the problems started. I started getting jams and misfires. I would pull the trigger and nothing would happen. Like a responsible shooter I would wait 10-15 seconds with my 45 pointing downrange just in case it would still fire. I would at this point rack back the chamber and yep it did get hit by the firing pin and no joy. This would happen 2 or 3 more times, then I would get a actual working round. Next problem I ran into is my pistol had problems chambering the ammo. So no fire, rack back the chamber and the round would have a huge ding in the side of the shell. At the end of the day only 1 in 15 out the 200 I had broght with me that day actually fired. Before you start saying my pistol was not clean or whatever excuse you can think of. I thoroughly clean all my firearms after each use, and yes I cleaned it after this session. It did take 4 times as long to clean as normal. Wolf is just the dirtiest ammo to shoot. No matter what you are looking to use it for, plinking or self defense, it is simply not worth it. Spend the extra money and get something else.
