I would bring this up with your gun shop. Fake Eotechs are a real problem. Usually if the price it to good to be true there is a reason for it. As a side not if you are looking to add a unique sight to your AR-15. I love using my Accutact Anglesight with my Eotech. This thing lets you shoot around objects. It takes a little practice, but it is well worth it. http://www.xfighterdefense.com/product/ACCTANG1

Frank, I am sorry to tell you this but you have a fake Eotech. If I were you I would be raising cain down at the so called Gun Shop that sold it to you.
Not only can't you change the color of the sight put the 511 takes N style batteries and not AA as you claim. This further supports you have a fake.

You have a fake if it changes colors like the above posted. You should raise hell to your gun dealer. That's outrageous that they'd rip you off like that.

The ability to cycle between green and red---that's what raised red flags when I read the post.

The following link is to eotech's own "how to spot" counterfeit pdf:

Yes I am sure I can change the color of my dot. Also I am very sure it is an Eotech. I have the manual and box somewhere that both say Eotech on them :-)

Are you sure you can change the color on the dot? You may wish to verify whether your eotech is real. I don't think the teal ones change colors...they should have a night vision button that dims it. The 511 doesn't have the nv button.
