The illegalization or getting rid of all legal firearms
The illegalization or getting rid of all legal firearms will not decrease the number of violent crimes. It would almost certainly cause an inflation in crimes being committed with a firearm here in the United state. The National Prohibition, the banishment of alcoholic beverages in the early 1900’s, was created with the same type of belief in mind. People believed that if alcohol became illegal, it would ultimately improve society. They were wrong. In fact, crime rates actually sky rocketed especially in big cities, as the black market for alcohol became increasing in popularity. Banishing firearms would ultimately have much of the same effect. Firearms would be imported illegally from other countries and sold through black markets to Americans. Guns would end up falling into the wrong hands and currently there are restrictions on who can legally own a firearm. A black market has no restrictions. Just think about it.
