In case of fire the ammunition would explode, not allowing firefighters to put out the fire. What about those military containers? they are not bulletproof?? So what is the best and safest way to store ammunition in case of fire particularly?
Ammunition not contained in a barrel of some sort has little danger of shooting anyone in a fire. They pop and bang but really have no force behind them. In a gun, the gun powder ignites and propels the bullet down the barrel at a rapid rate. Without the barrel or the containment of the case, a bullet just doesn’t have any inertia behind it. A fire proof safe is always a good investment and probably the best answer but, if you can’t afford one, the cheap military surplus ammo cans are a good substitute. Think about it, they are designed to store what ? …..Ammunition. As far as with children in the mix, a keycode combination lock safe or regular key safe. Either way you need to keep it out of reach of children
